If anyone has a legitimate reason to have a big head it’s Tom Brady: ageless wizard, husband of Gisele, NFL GOAT, Super Bowl participant. Except it appears the Patriots QB is leaning into that metaphor a little too literally, turning up in a XXL beanie at a Patriots press conference earlier this week. To be clear, we’re not talking about your typical bro beanie with a little slack at the top. This was Pharrell at the 2014 Grammys-sized headwear. Even if Minneapolis has a high of about four degrees this time of year, this is some aggressive accessorizing. But it wasn’t the only cold weather flex Brady showed off.

The GQ cover star also slipped into a pair of black gloves…but they weren’t just any black gloves. They were magic gloves, made for a man who drinks up to two and a half gallons of water a day, come from Under Armour and have as Brady put it, “a lot of recovery” in them. Brady’s hand is recovering from a recent injury, and the quarterback loves and endorses Under Armour’s recovery sheets and sleepwear, which claim to reduce inflammation and increase blood flow. We’d bet the gloves are made out of the same stuff.

Could literally any other human in the world get away with wearing a helmet-sized beanie and magical gloves to work with a straight face? Probably not. Does Brady? Not really—not even in 4-degree weather. But we’ll cut him a little slack in advance of the big game on Sunday. Needless to say, we’re expecting a more stylish vibe from Brady’s post-game wardrobe, whether or not he’s taking home some more hardware to add to his collection.
